Educators

This section of the Midwifery Junction website is for current midwifery educators at Otago Polytechnic and CPIT. It provides a forum for sharing information and for discussion as we implement the new Bachelor of Midwifery programme together. There is also information about joining our staff where from time to time information on any vacancies will be provided.

Each polytechnic has a School of Midwifery that takes responsibility for all midwifery education delivered in that polytechnic. Our two schools are small but both have cohesive, hard working and supportive staff teams. One of the benefits of collaboration is that we have effectively doubled our staffing numbers and we are enjoying the opportunities for discussion and sharing expertise that have arisen through development and implementation activities.

Each course in the new midwifery programme has a course coordinator from each school and they work together to ensure that consistency is achieved in delivery of each course. There is a single set of learning resources available to all students and these resources have been developed collaboratively between the schools.
